Finally, here is the build log from my most recent PC build. This new PC was put in the lovely blue case you see pictured, and I named her “Streaky” after Supergirl’s cat. You may recall that my pink Supergirl Linux box is called “Comet” after Supergirl’s horse.
Here are the new machine’s specs
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ Windsor 2.6GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM2 Processor
G.SKILL 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800
ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 64 Pro
The pictures show an abit, but I had to replace it with a Gigabyte

Stylehive is a great newish site, that is social bookmarking for shopping. I use it regularly, and it’s great for when you’re browsing online and see something cool, but you don’t want to buy it right away. You can also share your lists with friends, and see what other people are tagging.
I just use a stylehive bookmarklet and then I can tag whatever I want including it’s picture, price, and whatever tags I want to give it. The front page shows the most recently tagged things, and I’ve found some really cool stuff that I’ve saved there as well. Stylehive is also good for things like shopping for a gift, or saving things you don’t need right now (for me that’s often baby/kid stuff) but might want to find again later when you do need them, or say have a baby shower to go to.
You can also make wishlists from your bookmarks, which is a new feature that I am excited to check out. Anyway, it’s a very cool site and they happen to be having a contest so that whoever invites the most people to join in the month of October gets a shopping spree at some online stores! so if you join, please use my link http://www.stylehive.com/register?invita
You can see my stylehive bookmarks here; http://www.stylehive.com/shannonkay
My top tag used on Stylehive is gadget followed by purse. I think that says alot about me.

Finally, here I am getting interviewed by Robbie from the Teen Podcasters Network. I tell him about The Fangirl Podcast, and what I’m doing at the expo.

I attended the podcast expo this weekend in Ontario, California. I did take some pictures, but of course I’m in more pictures taken by other people than by me. So here I am talking with Julien and Chris Brogan

As aforementioned, I was having trouble choosing a desktop wallpaper. I still haven’t chosen, but I did make a few. The following are Back to School themed wallpapers in two widescreen sizes. I’ve also decided not to make non-widescreen ones anymore. I figure that between the sizes they’re big enough to strech or center or crop if you want to for your non-widescreen display. I just know in a little while I’m going to be going; “What was I doing making all these square wallpapers?” The clipart is from PC Crafter a couple years ago.
Also, Jerrod recently started a new blog. If you are interested in games or gaming at all, check out his blog, mini-boss.

Okay, the top coat is on and dry, and I’m ready to assemble!

Okay, I think I’ve finally got it right.
I painted the top over with the light pink
I printed out a template on some card stock and cut it out. Then I stuck it to the top. I actually used a gluestick because I didn’t have any double stick tape. Actually, it worked pretty well, but if you try it make sure you get any glue residue off of the parts you want the paint to stick to. I went around it after I stuck it down with a damp paper towel.
Okay, so then I sprayed it over with the dark pink again.
If this comes out looking as perfect as I think it will, I’m going to redo the side with this process. I’m going to start cutting out the bigger sized template for it though. That’s the hardest part!
It still needs a little cleanup; there are bits of glue and paper, but I’m going to do that when it’s really dry. I’m definitely doing the same process with the side now.
So here I am cutting out a bigger S
okay, the S on the side is done.
The lighting on these first couple of photos is a little funny because of the time of day.
My template stuck to the side
my template painted over
Sticker peeled off
like with the other one, there’s still some glue and paper bits and stuff stuck to it, but I’m going to wash it off well tomorrow before I do a top coat.
So, I’d say this is a successful method!

So I decided that I need to do the stencil in 2 parts, so here I am doing the S part of it on the side of the case.Stencil Ready

Success! not perfect, but I think it looks pretty good.

I waited for the stencil to dry and did one on the top too.
I taped it down more this time and I think I actually got a little more under the edges. I think it was the angle, though. I’m not very tall.

I think it’ll still look good once I get the border part on, though. I may also go over it with the original color to clean up some of the spots that the light pink got through.

And I did actually have to put on some sunblock to go outside and paint, because it’s 100 degrees outside on our patio.
